How we size a shade
Lampshades are sized as top × bottom × slant height, in inches. Slant height is measured along the side, not straight down. Drum shades have the same top and bottom, so they need a width and a height.

A family factory, not a reseller
Lampshades Inc. has made lampshades in Bedford Park, Illinois since 1979. Three generations later, every shade is still assembled by hand by skilled craftsmen, under the direct supervision of owner Michael Lawlor.
Questions from hotel buyers
Can you match the lampshades we already have in our rooms?
Yes. Send photos of the shade and lamp, ideally one from the side, one looking inside at the washer and one with a tape measure, and we will work out the specifications and quote a matching replacement.
Can you make the same shade for every room in the property?
Yes. Every shade is made to the same specification, and we keep that specification on file so later orders match the first.
What sizes can you make?
We make lampshades from 2½″ to 80″ in diameter, in any quantity.
Will the new shades fit our existing lamps?
Yes. We make shades with standard 3/8″ washers, UNO washers (threaded or unthreaded), flat or Euro washers and slotted (C) washers, and can make custom washers.
Do you have materials that are easy to clean?
Yes. Our Trilam laminates wipe clean, which suits guest rooms and restaurants. We have over 100 materials in total, and material swatches are free.
Where are the shades made?
In our factory at 5009 W 66th St, Bedford Park, Illinois. Lampshades Inc. has made lampshades there since 1979.
